Welcome to Summi’s a beautiful Café in Yamba

And that’s exactly what I did this morning and I ended up going to a small little café on top of the hill. Well if you’ve been in Yamba you’re probably thinking: more exercise? I’m already so dead, but trust me it’s worth it. It’s so quiet and peaceful up there. Beautiful. Go and visit Summi’s on top of the hill! The coffee and the food are amazing by the way.

So imagine you got up the hill and you’ll walk towards Summi’s the first thing you’ll recognize will be the beautiful outside area. Beautiful plaster, light and white furniture combine with palms and other plants. It is welcoming and it invites you to stay and relax. I love to stay out there, drink my coffee and just relax. Even though it’s just next to the street, it doesn’t feel like it. It feels a bit like you’re in the backyard of your friends house.

The Interior Design of Summi’s in Yamba

You’ll turn around and you can look into the café and store. It’s not a big place but it still feels quite big and comfortable. The inside is like the outside area, it takes the exterior inside or the interior outside? Well it combines it perfectly and it’s floating between inside and outside.

The Interior Design of Summi’s in Yamba is an open plan design with light and bright furniture, but it still gets enough contrasts to even it out and to give your eyes some spots to focus on. It has a wooden floor combined with carpets, which makes it so welcoming and homely. But also your tactile senses will be happy to discover more than just one flooring, especially if you walk barefoot, what most surfers do by the way. The walls instead are white and disappear into the background to let the furniture pieces and the fashion stand out. The furniture is mostly also wood coloured which makes it disappear in some spots and let it stand out in others.

Even the bar and a sitting bench are painted white, which is a smart move, because they disappear into the background but they’re still standing out. Which tells us that they are not the most important pieces, but still not unimportant.

All Those Little Things at Summi’s

But the things which you’re mostly focused on are the little details: the straw lamps, the yellow cushions, the decoration lights, the plants, the magazines about surfing and design and for sure the fashion. It’s beautiful designed surfer style fashion which fits beautifully into Yamba.

But you can also get surfboards and surf accessories, sunglasses, tea from Byron Bay and Picnic Folk Ware, which are just beautiful and handy.

A relaxing Spot in Yamba

Summi’s is a beautiful little café with beautiful owners who love to chat with you. It’s a bit like Bali and Byron Bay style. It’s pretty uncommon for Yamba to combine a café with a fashion store, but why not? I loved to get my coffee and breakfast there and have a stroll around and have a look at all those beautiful things. I think it’s a pretty smart move to combine both, because people are most likely to buy a few things while they’re waiting on they’re coffee. But it still doesn’t feel too much and overwhelming, it feels like the right amount of things in the right spots. You’re getting led through just naturally. The Interior Design works just perfectly!

I love to stay there, have my coffee and just recharge a bit further away from the main street. It just feels good to stay there and have a chat and a look around.

Ash and Kaan managed to give the interior the perfect touch, a welcoming and relaxing one. I love it. If you’re in Yamba, go and grab a coffee at Summi’s on top of the hill!
